I am excited to introduce the newest member of the Care Pack Counseling team. Isabel Glueckert has joined us as a clinical intern, and I can tell you we are lucky to have her. She brings a specific set of training and sensibilities that complement the work we already do, and she opens up a whole new way of showing up for clients at Care Pack.
About Isabel
Isabel is completing her Master of Science in Clinical Counseling and Expressive Art Therapies at Lesley University, one of the leading programs in the country for therapists trained to work with creative and expressive modalities alongside traditional talk therapy. That dual training is unusual, and it matters. It means she can meet you where you are, whether that is in a straightforward conversation or in a moment where words are not quite enough.
Her clinical focus is on self esteem, connecting with others, depression, and family challenges. She works with children, teens, adults, and couples, which makes her uniquely useful at Care Pack because very few clinicians are trained to move fluidly across all four of those populations.
In her own words, she offers a space where you can discuss difficult topics while meeting you where you are. That is not a throwaway phrase. It is how she actually practices.
Her Approach
Isabel works primarily with three modalities. Here is why that combination matters.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is one of the most research supported approaches for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. It is particularly useful for people who feel their emotions big, who struggle with impulsivity, or who find themselves caught in painful patterns in relationships.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps people stop fighting the thoughts and feelings they cannot control, and start building a life aligned with what they actually value. It is a gentler, more flexible approach than pure CBT, and it tends to resonate with folks who feel like they have already heard all the “just think differently” advice.
Art Therapy and Expressive Arts is where Isabel’s training stands out. For people who struggle to put feelings into words, who feel stuck in verbal processing, or who want to access the parts of their experience that live somewhere other than language, expressive arts can open doors that talk therapy alone cannot. You do not need to be an artist. You do not need to be good at drawing. You just need to be willing to try.
This combination is powerful. DBT gives you skills. ACT gives you direction. Expressive arts give you access.
Who Isabel Works Best With
Isabel is especially well suited to work with a few groups:
Kids and teens who are struggling with self esteem, big feelings, or difficult family dynamics, and who often do better with a therapist who uses creative tools rather than only sitting and talking.
Adults who feel stuck in traditional talk therapy and want to try something different, especially those who feel more comfortable expressing themselves through creative or nonverbal means.
Couples who want to work on connection, communication, and the patterns that have been quietly wearing on them.
People navigating depression who have hit a wall with traditional approaches and want to try something that engages the body and the creative parts of the brain alongside the thinking parts.
Anyone who has ever felt like words are not quite enough.
